Analogous Architecture, Construction Heritage, Preservation, Building in Existing Contexts
Since August 2025, Salome is a doctoral candidate at the Professorship of Construction Heritage and Preservation, researching on Analoge Architektur and the architectural heritage of the late 20th and early 21st centuries in Switzerland. She studied architecture at EPFL in Lausanne, Lunds Tekniska Högskola in Sweden and ETH Zurich, where she graduated in 2022. In her master’s thesis, she examined aesthetic, spatial, economic and social relations between insurance buildings in Zurich and single-family houses in the periphery. Next to her studies, Salome worked in architectural practices in Switzerland and Australia.
Before starting her phd, Salome coordinated the IDB’s continuing education programmes and organised the second repair seminar trip to Schatzalp. From 2024 to 2025, she was an assistant at the Beer/Merz guest studio.
