Curriculum Vitae

Rolf works as a research assistant and doctoral student at the Chair of Construction Heritage & Preservation at ETH Zurich in the SNF project “Digital Construction Archive”. He studied architecture at ETH Zurich and completed internships in Valais, as well as in Berne at Atelier 5, where he gained insights into the medium- and long-term maintenance measures of the Thalmatt I & II settlements. In December 2023, Rolf completed his diploma thesis under Prof. Tom Emerson, in which he analysed the social and structural potential for the expansion of profit-oriented housing based on the Micafil settlement in Altstetten. Throughout his entire master’s studies, he taught in the Basic Course in Structural Design I & II under Prof. Philippe Block and supported his research group in the development of prototypes as well as the organization of exhibitions and teaching.
