In this Focus Work, we want to assess and analyze the impact of the research pavilions presented at the Fabricate conference series on the architecture and construction industry. It builds on two previous Focus Works that looked at the same pavilions, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and longevity of these structures (see here and here). However, in this next iteration, we are specifically focusing on looking at two topics:
(1) What patents were filed in the framework of these research projects?
(2) What spin-offs were founded in the framework of these research projects?
Based on these questions and the results of the investigation, the students are asked to develop unique questions and positions regarding this topic.
