Maria Kouvari is currently a scientific assistant and doctoral candidate at the Chair of Construction Heritage and Preservation at ETH Zürich. Her research deals with the built legacy of child welfare in relation to international aid agencies. Prior to this, Maria gained experience in the architectural practice IttenBrechbühl in Bern, where she became an Associate. Maria holds a Diploma in Architecture from the University of Patras in Greece (2008–2013). In 2015 Maria completed the Master of Advanced Studies in Urban Design at ETH Zürich as a Bodossaki Foundation scholar, and in 2016 she received her second Master of Advanced Studies in Housing as a scholar of the Foundation for Education and European Culture. After her graduation she joined ETH Wohnforum–ETH CASE as a scientific assistant, responsible for the seminar week “People on the Move: Understanding Greece as an Arrival Country”.
